Financial Control Executive - Edinburgh

Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with an eco-investment group based in Edinburgh. The group is sourcing a Financial Control Executive to help support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy.

Reporting to the Financial Controller you will work in a specialist team with responsibility for solar and other onshore renewable development investments. You will work closely with the Group’s development partners on the development of renewable energy projects and will support the Financial Controller in ensuring Green Investment Group’s standards of financial control and financial reporting are incorporated into all projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing the monthly financial reports of the development business for senior stakeholders, monitoring projects, cashflow projections and overseeing drawdowns to ensure platforms are funded on a timely basis, platform and development budgeting, and working with partners to create and update forecasts as required
• Ensure the preparation of financial reports for the Group’s solar and onshore renewable investments are in accordance with the parent Group’s governance and risk management standards
• Ensure appropriate accounting policies are adopted and applied for project and group reporting
• Involved in maintaining the financial records and performing key reconciliations involving extensive liaison with investment partners, Financial Management Group, Tax and outsource service providers to create these deliverables

Required Skills & Attributes:

• A qualified accountant with minimum 2 years post-qualified experience working in a financial control, forecasting and/or reporting role with a strong track record of financial management
• Experience focusing on the control and reporting of renewable energy projects beneficial
• Experience of actual vs budget reporting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Organised, analytical and methodical with great attention to detail
• Able to work in a small team to deliver excellent service to a demanding customer base
• Foreign language skills would be desirable
