Wilkinson & Associates is working with a with an Investment Management firm headquartered in Edinburgh. They have an exciting opportunity for a Finance Systems Specialist to join their Finance Systems team.

The main role of the Finance Systems Specialist will be to assist the Finance Systems Manager in formulating a systems road map, creating detailed systems and process maps for their systems architecture and processes. The Finance Systems Specialist will also assist with gathering user requirements and ensure that a robust UAT and transition process is place.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Business Analysis support on projects relating to systems development and implementation of new Finance software
  • Liaise with colleagues to ensure new developments operate within the data architecture, governance and prioritisation framework
  • Work with accounting teams to gather development/project requirements and take responsibility for translating these requirements for the developers
  • Create UAT and transition plans for development requests and projects as applicable
  • Map systems architecture and processes with a view to identifying gaps and delivering improvements
  • Develop systems vision with a strong emphasis on adopting a 'best in class' approach

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • Ideally candidates will be part/fully qualified accountants, however candidates with relevant transferrable skills will also be considered.
  • Accounting background with proven business analysis and systems experience
  • Working knowledge of finance applications/systems
  • Experience of requirement gathering and UAT plan formulation
  • Business process mapping - 'as is' and 'to be'
  • Experience using MS Teams, MS Sharepoint, MS PowerBI/Automate (desirable)
  • Experience of working with OLAP products (desirable)
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver work to a high standard of accuracy
  • Proven organisational skills, and ability to manage own workload working to strict deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate to a range of audiences
