Finance Business Partner - Fife

Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with a leading manufacturing company based in Dunfermline. They have an excellent opportunity to join the team as a Finance Business Partner.

The role exists to deliver the strong financial and commercial acumen within their Research & Product Development business units. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing insightful monthly management information on concurrent projects. 

You will be required to manage project financial forecasts for the financial year and life-cycle of the projects. Another key element of the role will be ensuring strong spend / cost governance exists in the Product Development areas. The ideal candidate will have exceptional communication skills as you will be interfacing with both UK & overseas parent company. You should be inquisitive and have a desire and ability to understand the key performance drivers of the aligned business areas and associated projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide insightful analytics to 6 key stakeholders at Executive and Director Level and their teams to enhance common understanding of financial status on multi-million dollar projects
  • Provide financial subject matter expertise to and partner with Product Management to deliver new products/features to market.
  • Own IAS 38 Capitalisation Process.
  • Responsible for various reconciliations to ensure controls environment operates effectively.
  • Review and authorisation of supplier payments.
  • Responsible for driving continuous improvement and maintain / update policies and procedures accordingly.

Required skills and attributes:

  • Professionally qualified accountant with some post-qualified experience.
  • Ideally you will have a background in management accounting within product development / manufacturing / production and awareness of project accounting and related controls. Candidates seeking to make their first move out of professional practice that can demonstrate strong partnering skills and commercial awareness will also be considered. 
  • Previous experience of working in a large, complex international group is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a customer focused environment beneficial.
  • Successful problem solving in a cross functional team.
  • Good time management skills to ensure all reports are delivered in a timely manner.
  • Good attention to detail with strong ability to report accurately.
  • Intermediate / advanced MS Excel skills to SUM IF / Pivot table standard
