ESG Accountant - 9 Month Fixed Term Contract - Edinburgh

W&A is working with an asset management organisation based in Edinburgh to help source an ESG Accountant for a 9-month fixed term contract.

The role will involve a blend of home-based and office working with 1-2 days a week in the office.

This role will support the preparation of required regulatory disclosures relating to ESG for external processing.

Reporting to the Group ESG reporting Manager, this is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic accountant who has an interest in gaining ESG experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing the overall ESG disclosure approach and delivery, with a particular focus on TCFD reporting requirements
• Working collaboratively with various subject matter experts to design relevant ESG disclosures for inclusion in external reporting documents
• Keeping abreast of developments in the ESG disclosure space to ensure all disclosures are in line with latest requirements of various regulatory bodies and emerging best practice
• Coordinating responses to auditor queries in relation to ESG disclosures

Required Skills & Attributes:

• Qualified Accountant with an interest in ESG related matters
• Some knowledge of TCFD or other ESG reporting frameworks
• Experience of production and delivery of annual report disclosures in a life and pensions / asset management organisation (not necessarily ESG disclosures)
• Some knowledge of industry trends, best practice and developments in ESG
• Highly analytical and skilled problem solver, with a strong commercial mind-set, and the ability to distil complex ideas or problems into simple, effective plans and solutions
• Ability to hit the ground running and make significant progress quickly
• Ability to communicate effectively and influence effectively with productive, successful relationships with demanding senior stakeholders 
• Ability to assess, react quickly and decisively to problems, taking tough decisions where needed or escalating issues as appropriate
