Business Risk Analyst - Edinburgh

Wilkinson & Associates is working with a with an asset management firm headquartered in Edinburgh to help source a Business Risk Analyst.

This role will primarily oversee pooled fund and counterparty credit risks, coordinating AIFMD reporting and supporting other activities such as business continuity, operational resilience and data protection.

Reporting to a Business Risk Manager the role will predominantly be responsible for the monitoring and delivery of the firms’ pooled fund risk management oversight programme. Important aspects of this role include the performance of analytical reviews across the range of pooled funds and to provide risk-based input to support the continued development of the programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing analysis over all pooled fund risks in accordance with the Firm’s pooled fund risk management framework, including oversight of market risk, liquidity risk and credit risk
  • Monitoring and management of risk exposures against limits, including the performance of stress testing
  • Contributing to the continual development of the quality and efficiency of analysis and monitoring performed
  • Assisting with the oversight of counterparty credit risk, including investigation and assessment of risk exposures against limits, counterparty and broker maintenance, and relevant reporting
  • Performing ad-hoc detailed reviews on emerging areas of risk
  • Contributing to reports for relevant Regulators, Boards, and Committees
  • Managing and responding to internal and external queries relating to pooled fund risk

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • Background in risk, compliance, assurance
  • Broad operational awareness of investment management processes (desirable)
  • Ability to integrate and analyse different sources of information
  • Ability to make sound judgements based on evidence and information available
  • Ability to deliver high quality results to deadlines, including accurate, clear and concise report writing
  • Ability to communicate in various formats effectively and professionally
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks across a range of disciplines
