Job Title:  Business Performance Consultant

Department / Team:  Finance – Business Partnering and Performance

Reports to:  Head of Business Performance                

Role Context:

The Business Performance function is responsible for the provision of accurate insight and analysis relating the financial performance of the business.  The role works closely with the key business areas and the other finance teams to support the global growth ambitions of the company.

As well as producing accurate and timely financial and management information, there is a need to look beyond the numbers and provide commercial insight and analysis to support strategic decision making. 

Role Purpose:

Provide commercially relevant, timely and accurate insight and management information at a corporate level to internal stakeholders and for external use.  The role holder will work closely with the numerous stakeholders to ensure relevant business performance is reported in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Outcomes / Responsibilities:

Provide proactive commercial insight, information and analysis that informs the Board and senior management team on the progress of the business and highlights key issues including:

  • MI packs, profitability analysis and cost allocation modelling, benchmarking / peer analysis and relevance and presentations (analyst, investor and management).
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with colleagues elsewhere (particularly with Business Partnering, Group Finance & Investor Relations) and ensure that all information requests are properly handled in a timely manner.

 

Role Specific Skills and Knowledge:

  • Proven track record of working in a team environment
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales
  • Established history of providing highly commercial, timely and relevant management information and analysis
  • Experience of cost allocation modelling would be beneficial
  • Influence strategic direction of team, function and organisation
  • Innovative approach to production and delivery of insight and analysis
  • Takes personal accountability for quality and delivery
  • Engage colleagues and managers and build confidence in self and others
  • Demonstrate credibility with stakeholders (relationships, communication, influence and confidence)
  • Proactive in originating issues and setting priorities
  • Knowledge of broader asset management industry

Qualifications:

  • Recognised professional financial qualification (e.g. CA, ACCA, CIMA), as well as significant post qualification experience.
  • Relevant degree level qualification
