Banking and Payments Executive - Edinburgh

Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with an eco investment group based in Edinburgh. The group is sourcing a Banking and Payments Executive to help support the transition to a low carbon, sustainable global economy.

Reporting to the Banking Controller you will work in a specialist team with responsibility for solar and other onshore renewable development investments. You will work closely with the Group’s development partners on the development of renewable energy projects and will support the Banking Controller in ensuring the Group’s standards of financial control and operational risk requirements are incorporated into all projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for assisting with the opening and general management of bank accounts for the business and for new projects, including working with platform partners
  • Manage all day to day payments including drawdowns, accounts payable, payroll and employee expenses ensuring appropriate authorisation is sought for all transactions
  • Manage the associated internal controls and processes, including validation of payee bank details, providing the necessary reporting and reviews to both internal and external stakeholders

Required Skills & Attributes:

  • At least 2-3 years’ experience in a banking and cash management role
  • Experience of working with multiple online banking portals
  • Operational employee expenses experience
  • Solid background in financial control and reporting disciplines as well as experience in process improvement
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as a member of a small team to implement and drive improvements in processes and deliver excellent service
  • Pair excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, developing, environment
  • High level of accuracy, a right first-time approach and attention to detail as well as the ability to prioritise to meet demanding deadlines
  • High integrity and openness combined with commitment to good governance and compliance
  • Foreign language skills would also be desirable
