Wilkinson & Associates are actively supporting our banking client as they seek to add a Capital and Stress Testing specialist to their Internal Audit team in Edinburgh.

The role works closely with multiple Finance, Risk and Treasury stakeholders and given the subject matter is very high-profile, you’ll have regular liaison with senior colleagues.

Summary of role:

  • Support the engagement assurance planning, ensuring coverage of all key risks, complying with regulatory requirements for Internal Audit
  • Lead and undertake key aspects of the assurance fieldwork, taking responsibility for the work undertaken by the team being delivered on time, fit for purpose and providing reliable evidence to support issues and opinions
  • Lead the engagement team making best use of their capability
  • Demonstrate professional behaviours and help to build on the reputation and integrity of the function
  • Leveraging Internal Audit’s industry leading audit methodology and tools
  • Ensuring compliance with global methodology within engagements and accurately keeping the audit management tool up to date
  • Managing key stakeholders throughout audit engagements, ensuring a good understanding of business risks and an open and effective discussion on key risks

Candidate background:

  • Experienced Internal or External Auditor, Risk Manager or Accountant
  • Demonstrable experience of successfully delivering audit assignments and projects
  • It would be an advantage if you have had experience in or exposure to some of the following; integrated stress testing, ICAAP, capital planning, economic capital, practices around building and validating risk models, enterprise level risk assessment, risk appetite and risk reporting.
  • Knowledge and experience of prudential risk and capital management
  • A good understanding of the Capital Requirements Regulation and other key regulatory requirements relating to risk and capital management and the use of risk models
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to manage relationships with and influence senior stakeholders
