Audit Manager Finance, Risk & Treasury - Edinburgh

Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with a retail bank headquartered in Edinburgh, to help source an Audit Manager to join their Finance, Risk and Treasury team.

As an integral part of the team, the role holder will forge excellent relationships with senior stakeholders, developing a great understanding of their business and provide them with valuable insight on their governance, risk management and control environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide independent assurance over some of the bank’s key risk areas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grow specialist knowledge and network, becoming recognised inside and outside the department for your expert insight
• Contribute to the development of the annual audit plan
• Lead increasingly large or complex audits maintaining good quality, time, and budget standards
• Contribute to the strategic thinking and direction of the Internal Audit Department and play an important role in shaping and contributing to continuous improvement projects and departmental initiatives
• Coach and develop others in the wider team

Required Skills & Attributes:

• Qualified accountant (ICAS, ICAEW, IIA etc) or equivalent relevant industry experience
• Experience of leading and delivering controls-based audits or reviews within an Internal Audit, External Audit, Risk or Supervisory environment
• Experience of delivering audits in any, but not necessarily all, of the following areas would be desirable: Financial Risk, Liquidity Risk, Finance Functions, Treasury Functions, Financial Crime, and Risk Management Frameworks
• An understanding of the retail banking sector including the regulatory environment and challenges faced by mid-tier banks
• A collaborative, enthusiastic team player with an appetite to learn and develop
• A critical thinker who can positively influence others to think differently
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
• Strong planning and organisational skills, proven ability to deliver to timelines
• Experience of using Agile project management principles and ways of working would be beneficial
