Audit & Accounts Manager - Edinburgh

Wilkinson & Associates is partnering with a small and welcoming practice in Edinburgh to help source an Audit & Accounts Manager to join their enthusiastic and talented team.

This is a varied role responsible for delivering audits from planning to completion using technical knowledge, working on a combination of accounts preparation and tax-related assignments, including offering informed business advice to clients.

The role is suited to a qualified accountant with extensive experience in a practice environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an adaptable individual to join an established accountancy practice where they can develop and grow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver audits for a variety of clients, setting timescales and budgets, and presentation of work to clients
• Be a primary contact for colleagues, clients and their professional team
• Preparation of annual accounts for companies and partnerships
• Preparing sole trader accounts
• Preparing periodic management accounts on Xero
• Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
• Preparation of Self-assessment Tax Returns
• Preparing VAT Returns
• Preparation of Profit and Cashflow forecasts
• Involvement in business advisory
• Involvement in tax advisory

Required Skills & Attributes:

• Qualified accountant, CA, ACA or ACCA
• Audit, accounts, tax and VAT experience
• Experience of handling a client portfolio with strong client engagement
• Expertise in technical compliance and advisory work
• Excellent organisational skills and strong communication skills – both written and oral
• Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and relevant software packages
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Good team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
• Ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines
