Assistant Investment Trust Accountant - Edinburgh

Wilkinson & Associates is working with an asset management firm headquartered in Edinburgh to help source an Assistant Investment Trust Accountant.

The primary objective of the Investment Trust department remains the provision of high levels of service in administrative support, secretarial services and accounting information for managed Investment Trusts. The successful candidate will support this work.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant to work in one of the UK’s fastest-growing asset management organisations.

Key Responsibilities:

• To assist with all aspects of the production of investment trust annual and interim reports across the team
• To assist with the production of Audit Committee/Board packs
• Attendance at relevant investment trust board meetings
• Assist with the production of minutes
• Checking of monthly factsheets
• Checking of monthly expense adjustments
• Checking of loan covenants
• Assist with production of (Key Information Document) KIDs
• To respond to ad hoc requests for information to the team email group
• To assist with review of corporation tax and VAT returns (prior to senior accountant sign off)
• Share issuance and buyback workstreams
• Companies House forms
• To lead/assist on accounting team project work as required
• Maintain awareness of industry developments and changes to the regulatory and taxation regimes under which the investment   trusts operate, and update colleagues as appropriate.
• Provide ad hoc assistance within the department as required

Required Skills & Experience:

• CA or ACCA qualified
• In-depth and relevant experience working with Investment Trusts preferred
• Good understanding of regulatory and taxation regimes
• Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to deliver high-quality results to strict deadlines
• Ability to manage own workload
• Advanced Excel (desirable)
