Our client's Internal Audit team provides the business with independent and objective assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of the firm's internal risk, control and governance processes. We are currently working on a new role to join this high performing team for a period of 12 months. This is a unique opportunity to work in highly regarded investment management business.
Purpose of Role
To assist the Head of Internal Audit in evaluating the design and operational effectiveness of internal controls within the business, and its service organisations, and in maintaining and developing the internal audit framework.
*Delivery of high quality internal audits in line with the Internal Audit plan including day to day management of audits, providing support to the team auditors during all phases of the audit cycle. Specifically covering the following areas:
*Preparation and review of key internal audit documents.
*Review audit findings, communicating these effectively to relevant business leaders.
*Monitoring managements progress against action plans.
*Assist the Head of Internal Audit with management of the team(s), including clear and appropriate apportionment of responsibilities & resources and management of staff including training, development and appraisals.
*Assist with ongoing risk assessment and analysis of internal and external factors which impact our control environment and the impact of these on our audit plan.
*Actively contribute to the continuous development of internal audit techniques, including maintenance of in-house procedural notes and systems.
*Establish and retain effective working relationships throughout the business.
*Provide advice and challenge to key contacts on risks and controls.
*Focus on personal development, seek opportunities for development, maintain knowledge of internal audit and industry best practice/ developments, seek feedback on how to improve and ensure that all relevant CPE requirements are complied with.
*Adhere to the Group Internal Audit Standards, the IIA Code of Ethics and other required professional standards.
*Undertake other miscellaneous internal audit duties, as required.
*Accounting or Internal Audit Qualification
*Experience of working in a financial services company
*Applicants should have worked at manager level previously, within audit or risk and control environment
