- Wilkinson & Associates are working with a highly reputable and successful, institutional investment firm based in the heart of Edinburgh. Due to their continued growth, our client is looking to expand their Internal Audit function.

This position will suit a Big 4 CA looking to make their first or second move out of practice. Likewise this role would be well suited to applicants from an asset management background.
The Internal Audit function provides an independent assessment of the adequacy of internal systems and controls, including the risk management and compliance systems. The team reports to the Audit Committee and delivers an annual audit plan comprising a routine testing program and a series of themed reviews covering all areas of the business.
Summary of the role profile:
*Plan, scope, perform and report on selected audits.
*Conduct and document audit tests, adhering to the Internal Audit department's minimum standards.
*Perform audit procedures making effective use of systems, software tools and interview techniques.
*Ensure actions arising from agreed audit findings are logged and monitored until implemented. Escalate overdue actions to management.
*Establish and retain effective working relationships throughout the business.
*Build and maintain knowledge of products, processes and systems.
*Involvement in team wide initiatives and ongoing development in audit methodology.
*Take personal responsibility for identifying self- development needs and for discussing opportunities for development with your manager.
*Coaching and review of junior team members work.
To be considered for the role you must be a qualified accountant or risk professional. As described above, you will be from either a Big 4 background or have working knowledge of the asset management sector. You must have a good understanding of control testing and risk management within financial services and it is expected you will have excellent communication skills, a proven problem solving skill set, attention to detail and sound organisational skills.
