- We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Audit Manager for a market leading Financial Services business based in Edinburgh. This is a brilliant opportunity to join one of the city's leading firms and to play a key role in the independent assessment of the adequacy and effectiveness of internal systems and controls, including the risk management and compliance systems. The team reports to the Audit Committee, delivering a risk based annual audit plan. Day to day the successful applicant will plan, manage and perform a series of reviews across the wider business and its outsourced providers, reporting on the effectiveness of the controls in place to mitigate business risks.
As Senior Audit Manager you will work with the Head of Internal Audit to achieve the overall strategy of the department, managing audit assignments but also providing an oversight over completion of the annual audit plan ensuring effective delivery and reporting. Key to the role and its success is that the successful applicant builds and maintains strong working relationships across the wider business, including both internal and external boards, developing close and effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
Suitable candidates must hold a Professional Accountancy qualification and ideally you must have substantial experience of working in an investment management or financial services company in either an Internal Audit or Risk and Controls capacity. Additionally, the role could also suit candidates who are currently working within Professional Practice and who have a strong internal or external audit background having ideally worked on a Financial Service portfolio.
A strong track record of delivery, an ability to make sound judgements and decisions, strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills and strong presentation and report writing are all key to the position and candidates must have a demonstrable track record in these and of consistent high achievement throughout their career.
