- The ever evolving regulatory climate in the banking sector has leant itself to a huge amount of change within Internal Audit, with specialists at all levels having the opportunity to gain invaluable subject matter expertise.
Working in the financial services sector, this role will face off to the multiple areas of the bank and will give the successful applicant exposure to all areas of Finance and Treasury, as well as other business areas outside of the initial remit. Therefore applicants must be able to demonstrate commercial awareness, all-round business acumen and have a flexible approach.
Summary of role:
*Responsible for the planning, execution and reporting of audits including follow up management.
*Stakeholder management, up to and including Exec level, across the business and supporting the wider Internal Audit team in delivering strategic objectives
*Deliver quality audits, with minimal supervision, in line with the audit methodology and budgets.
*Design the test strategy to be used during fieldwork
*Produce high quality reports which clearly articulate the risks and control opportunities and which help the business build a better control environment.
*Promote the continuous improvement of risk management and control processes through the development of ongoing relationships with management
This position would suit candidates keen to make their first or second move out of Big 4 external audit or those in the financial services sector keen to further their Internal Audit skills. To be considered for the role you must be a qualified accountant with some post qualification experience. You must possess strong experience in risk based auditing or risk and control activities in financial services, with particular focus on Finance, Treasury and Prudential Regulation. You should be able to demonstrate proven skills in management, building relationships, influencing the business areas you've engaged with and developing teams.
