- Our client has unique opportunity for an individual with experience working within a Plc project environment. This role will last for 12 months initially with potential to extend.
The role will work within the Process Management Team - a small team that provides project and process management support to teams across plc Finance. As manager of the team you will be responsible for delivering and leading specific pieces of work yourself but you will also be required to support and provide guidance to your direct reports to deliver the teams objectives. A vital part of your role will be to develop strong working relationships with a number of key stakeholders within business unit and Group functions, and to ensure they deliver in line with agreed timings.
The team is responsible for managing the financial reporting processes for the Group (both IFRS and Solvency II) and are heavily involved in the creation of the documents produced during these periods including the Annual report and accounts and Half year results. The project management role of the team is therefore key in ensuring they meet critical external deadlines, and ensuring that issues are appropriately escalated.
In addition, the team is also responsible for a number of other processes within plc finance and ensuring these have adequate controls and governance applied.
*Pro-actively lead, manage and propose solutions for the implementation and successful delivery of key projects and change improvement activity across plc Finance. This includes managing the half year and full year financial reporting processes for the Group.
*Document management for the Annual report and accounts and other externally published documents - including all aspects of setup, production management, control, delivery, print and external disclosure.
*Responsible for ensuring workable timetables are in place for key external deliverables and for monitoring of these timetables/issues to be escalated
*Responsible for ensuring appropriate governance and controls are maintained / established for Group reporting processes including IFRS and Solvency II, and other processes across plc Finance
*Provides resource management expertise across Group reporting. This includes the provision of direct support to the Head of Group Reporting and their direct reports.
*Provides process, control and project / change management expertise to managers/teams across plc Finance
*Works with stakeholders both within and outside of plc Finance of all levels of seniority
*Regular facilitation of small and medium sized sessions with key stakeholders of Group reporting and ensuring output carried through.
*Business continuity plan owner - ensuring appropriate requirements captured and testing completed.
*Role has line management responsibility for 2 direct reports (Process analysts with Prince 2 and Lean Six Sigma experience).
*Prince 2 practitioner (or equivalent)
*Experience of financial reporting and control, preferably within a financial services company.
*Strong skills in MS word - including use of stylesheets. Use of Adobe acrobat preferable.
*Ability to work under pressure with no compromises in quality - high attention to detail essential.
*Experience of influencing at senior management levels
*Experience of working in an environment with a strong control focus
*Self-starter, with ability to work under own initiative within a team environment.
*Excellent relationship management, communication and influencing skills and demonstrable experience of working in a high pressured environment.
*Experience managing Annual reports
*Lean Six Sigma green belt certification (or equivalent)
*Experience of working within a project based environment at a level involving prioritisation and decision making
