- Our client is currently looking for a Manager to join their Financial Control team, where you'll be able to gain exposure across all franchises of the business in a collaborative, recognition oriented culture. Working in this fluid role with large amounts of variety, this is the perfect stepping stone for a qualified accountant. This role is being offered on a 6 month basis.
What you'll do
In this role, you'll be responsible for producing complex, publicly accessible financial statements to support the annual financial statements produced by the Central Statutory Reporting team, to identify how the business is performing and to make sure they conform to internal and external policies and regulations.
Along with this, you'll be:
*Establishing and maintaining the trust and confidence of customers and stakeholders up to and including director level around decisions from all franchises of the business
*Developing an understanding of the purpose of each legal entity and its business activity to develop legally sound financial statements
*Shaping the strategy and operating model for Central Statutory Reporting by providing input and support to the management of risk activity
*Advising on technical and accounting matters relating to the business, sharing knowledge across the team to ensure both quality and consistency is maintained
The skills you'll need
You will need to have experience in a financial environment, preferably within the financial services industry. Along with this, you'll need to have knowledge of producing financial statements and an understanding of how data is gathered together to produce a final statement.
You'll also need to have:
*A relevant accounting qualification along with an understanding of accounting standards
*Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to adapt your communication style to face off to the different bank franchises
*The ability to plan, organise and manage your time effectively
*Sound decision making skills and the ability to exercise good judgement under pressure
*The ability to look forward and identify the possibility of any risks that may arise
