Wilkinson & Associates are working with a highly regarded business with a notable profile on the international stage. Based in Edinburgh, our client has continued to increase market share over the last few years and due to continued growth they are looking to add a newly qualified accountant to join their finance function and undertake a varied accounting role.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates keen to make their first move since fully qualifying as an accountant. The hiring manager is willing to invest time and resources in the successful applicant with a view to increasing the remit and responsibilities over time. As a key member of the finance team, this role will support the Financial Controller in the preparation of the statutory accounts and gathering the necessary information for the associated tax returns. The role will have a key responsibility for reviewing and reporting on the working capital of the business and forecasting of cash flows.
Summary of the role profile:
*Managing the year end an interim audits.
*Managing the group consolidations;
*Providing technical advice on accounting issues / new accounting standards, specifically regarding FRS102
*Dealing with third party consultants - auditors / tax advisors etc.
*Month end processes;
*Balance sheet reconciliations;
*Preparation of information for submission of quarterly corporation tax instalments;
To be considered for the role you must be a newly or soon to be qualified accountant. Applicants from professional practice and those that have trained in industry will be considered. You must be ambitious and be an effective team player. Previous experience of producing or reviewing statutory accounts is a must have. You should be able to demonstrate sound MS Excel skills and have the ability to pick up new software's quickly.
